Job Summary
Primary responsibility is to promote and sell building materials to customers.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Learn company products, procedures, culture and customer service philosophy
- Learn proper procedures for orders, special orders, purchase orders, credit memo’s and receiving
- Field incoming phone calls, product inquiries and direct visitors to proper areas to find product
- Solicit sales orders from existing customers
- Enter estimates/quotes for building materials using BisTrack software [training will be provided]
- Schedule accurate product delivery to customer job sites
- Provide support to the Outside Sales Representative by providing customers with courteous and prompt service
- Execute material take offs and resolve customer issues
- Assist with stocking and pulling of merchandize in the store
- Assist yard personnel with loading customer merchandise
- Understand profit margins, gross margin and markups
- Perform additional job duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong computer skills: experience with Word and Excel
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers
- Ability to build and maintain relationships
- Building industry background preferred
- Strong mathematic skills
- Well organized, able to multi-task and prioritize
- Ability to stand/walk for 40 hour week
- Physical strength to lift and carry 50 pounds
- Current driver’s license, current automobile insurance and good driving record
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
