Job Summary

Review and evaluate cost estimates

Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials and labor estimates.
Review material & labor requirements to decide most effective way to produce components.
Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects, or services.
Prepare cost estimates, bids and technical reports.
Ensure timely completion of estimates.
Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors & subcontractors
Work directly with Outside Sales Representative and General Contractors regarding all aspects of blueprints, structural issues, specification book, estimates, voluntary substitutes and scope of work.
Assemble & expedite submittals
Work alongside salesperson, customer, and subcontractor to ensure all schedules are met.
Expedite and resolve issues as they arise.
Qualifications & Requirements

4 years in lumber and/or building materials industry.
Estimating experience.
Proficient in industry and supplier software applications.
Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED) or Associate’s Degree required
Rough Carpentry, Project Supervision and or Project Manager experience will be considered.
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Key responsibilities include:

·            Purchase commodity lumber and panels.

·            Analyze market trends and competition.

·            Monitor and analyze sales records, trends and economic conditions.

·            Develop, plan and execute on annual purchasing strategies utilizing KPI’s. 

·            Assist field personnel with preparing annual budgets.

Control over the accuracy and condition of inventory of the store.  Primary responsibility is to supervise and control the accurate receiving, selling and delivery of products in to and out from our facility.  Responsible for all aspects of our Door Shop, receiving and the supervision of the yard and office personnel.

  • Supervises employees involved in one or any combination of the following functions: dispatching, drivers, warehousing, order filling, load building, loading, delivery, and housekeeping.
  • Retail store responsibility include but not limited to; processing transactions using cash-register, cash balancing at end of day
  • Define work processes, schedules, and workflow for all yard personnel
  • Supervise and schedule fleet/vehicle maintenance
  • Work with other such as sellers and managers as a team to ensure coordination of activities
  • Interpret and uphold all policies and procedures
  • Responsible for OSHA and safety standards, enforcing safety regulations

  • Ensure all orders are put together in a timely manner, and that special orders are received and shipped properly.
  • Operate machinery as required; operates forklift and flat-bed trucks.
  • Open and close the store
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

  • College degree with three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have supervisory experience and knowledge of the building materials industry
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, safety and governmental regulations, and technical procedures
  • Ability to write business correspondence and develop reports
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to employees, supervisors, and customers

Inventory Specialist

Job Summary

Responsible for all areas of inventory from receiving to shipping, special order product management, and material purchasing.  Maintaining inventory levels in coordination with production needs.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Responsible for meeting schedule demands by coordinating with sales, production, and administration.
  • Responsible for all material receiving, shipping, and inventory.
  • Attend training sessions to learn and keep current on products and driving regulations
  • Be knowledgeable of computer systems and how they can more effectively improve inventory processes.
  • Stock product and special order product purchasing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements of Truss Designer

  • Proficient in industry and supplier software applications.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED) or Associate’s Degree required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Our Truss Team is looking to hire an experienced Designer to lead design efforts for wood roof, floor trusses and engineered wood products. This Designer position has the option of being performed remotely. 

Preferred Designer candidates will have:

1.    3+ years of Truss design experience using Mitek software required.

2.    Experience with both residential and commercial design desired.

3.    TTT certification a plus.

4.    Associate's degree in Building Trades, Engineering/Architectural Drafting, CAD, or a related field is desired.

5.    Strong organization, computer, and communication skills.

Producing a truss is definitely a team effort, involving schematics, precision measurements, picking, measuring, sawing, assembling, and stacking.

We have full-time positions (36 hour work week) with weekday or weekend schedules available.
