Job Summary Act as the liaison between our Customers and our Design and Production teams, the Design Coordinator will be responsible for supporting staff and customers from early design through production and delivery. This team member will organize design information to help optimize designer efficiency and customer communications while learning the basics while stepping towards becoming a designer. Responsibilities & Duties of Truss Designer • Work under local design manager, learning all aspects of engineering requirements for wood truss component products. • Greet customers as they visit our facility • Assist with answering calls and forwarding to appropriate individual • Compile complete design criteria and • Schedule in office designer visits and truss deliveries. • Organize, compile, and distribute production and delivery materials • Manage, update and generate daily design production schedule reports to aid the Sales teams • Create and distribute quotes, layouts and design submittals to secure customer approval • Work with professional engineers for truss design and repair details • Update and inform customers upon milestones related to their project • Perform flexible and consistent work across multiple programs and design methods • Learn and know the organization and products • Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty. This includes, but is not limited to the ability to be present at work, arrive on time and be at the work station ready for work at the start of the shift. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements of Truss Designer • Basic Computer software proficiency required • Strong verbal and written skills are essential • Associates degree in design or drafting is preferred, but not required • Working knowledge of general construction is preferred, but not required • Prior design or drafting related experience preferred, but not required • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment • Excellent communication abilities and data entry skills are essential • High attention to detail and organization skills • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
