Driver/Yard Worker

Location: Mead Lumber of Cheyenne

Driver Job Summary:

Primary responsibility is to drive company vehicles to deliver merchandise to customer jobsites and physically unload the materials to the customer’s satisfaction. Help load and un-load trucks, put merchandise away, clean up yard.

Driver Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Learn company products, procedures, culture, and customer service philosophy.
  • Provide the highest level of customer service to all customers.
  • Load trucks according to the list of materials on the sales invoice.
  • Organize and secure each load.
  • Responsible for accuracy of loads and must get all loads verified by yard manager for accuracy prior to leaving yard.
  • Delivers and unloads materials to customer’s satisfaction.
  • Follow directions and make deliveries on a timely basis.
  • Maintain inspection of each vehicle you drive for safe driving.
  • Safely drive trucks and forklifts obeying all traffic laws, wear seatbelt at all times while driving a company truck or forklift.
  • Follow all yard loading and delivery, and yard security procedures.
  • Accurately record all merchandise returns on a credit memo.
  • Listen and work with customers to solve customer complaints.
  • Housekeeping in yard and areas assigned to you.

Driver Qualifications & Requirements

  • Desire to learn and grow professionally.
  • Ability to react quickly to problems and respond to them accurately and professionally.
  • Ability to stand/walk for 4 -10 hours daily, stoop, kneel & crouch.
  • Ability to wall up stairs to stock drywall.
  • Ability to operate a computer and calculator.
  • High School diploma required.
  • Valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance and a good driving record. CDL a plus!
  • Physical strength to lift and carry 80 pounds.

Yard Associate

Overview:
Primary responsibility is to receive building materials from vendors, put away, label and track special order materials entering and exiting the yard, stock product, keep yard clean and load customers in the yard. This exciting position in a fast paced, fun environment is waiting for you!

Responsibilities:
Learn company products, procedures, culture, and customer service philosophy.
Provide the highest level of customer service to all customers.
Unload/Load trucks/customers accurately in accordance with paperwork/invoices.
Organize, label, store materials in accordance with protocols.
Safely operate equipment. Always wearing a seatbelt per company policy.
Follow yard loading and delivery procedures.
Accurately record all merchandise returns on a credit memo, put materials in designated return area and ensure return to vendor.
Listen and work with customers to solve customer complaints.
Maintain a clean working environment.
Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:
Desire to learn and grow professionally.
Ability to react quickly to problems and respond to them accurately and professionally.

High School diploma or GED required.
Physical strength to lift and carry 70+ pounds at times.
Ability to stoop, kneel and crouch.
