Engineered Wood (EWP)

Engineered Wood Products are made by binding or fixing the strands, particles, fibres, or veneers of wood, together with adhesives to form the engineered wood products.

Engineered Wood benefits:

  • Engineered wood products are designed to maximize the natural strength characteristics of wood. Engineered wood can be stronger than natural lumber because of its high density and layers of grain running in different directions.
  • Engineered wood products can be cut, drilled, routed, jointed, glued, and fastened. Larger engineered wood panel sizes can speed construction by reducing the number of pieces to be handled and installed.
  • Engineered wood products come in almost any size because they’re created by composite, rather than having to be cut from single trees.
